1. Who we are

This website is operated by RICHFINCH LIMITED (“RichFinch”, “we”, “us”), registered at UNIT B, 11/F, WAH KIT Commercial Building, 302 Des Voeux Road Central, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy.

This policy covers personal data. The terms on which you may use the site itself are set out in our Terms of Use.

2. What we collect

Information you give us. When you submit the quote form, we receive your name, company, country, email address, phone or WhatsApp number if you provide one, your business type and the contents of your message. If you contact us by email or WhatsApp instead, we receive whatever you include in that message.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, we and our analytics providers receive technical data: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, the pages you open and how long you spend on them. This data is collected through cookies and similar technologies, and only where you have accepted them.

We do not ask for and do not want special categories of data – health, political views, biometrics and the like. Please do not include them in your message.

3. Why we use it

• To answer your enquiry – to prepare a quote, confirm delivery options for your country and reply to your questions. This is the main reason we collect anything at all.
• To keep in touch about that enquiry – follow-up on a quote you asked for.
• To understand how the site is used – which pages people read, which are ignored, where visitors come from.
• To measure and target advertising – to see which ads lead to enquiries, and to show ads to people who have visited the site.

We do not sell your data, and we do not send bulk marketing email to people who did not ask for it.

4. Legal basis

Where the GDPR or a comparable law applies to you:

• Answering your enquiry and preparing a quote – steps taken at your request before entering into a contract.
• Analytics, advertising measurement and remarketing cookies – your consent, given through the cookie banner. You can withdraw it at any time.
• Keeping records of business correspondence – our legitimate interest in running and documenting our business.

5. Cookies and third-party tools

Essential cookies keep the site working and are always on. Everything else runs only after you accept it in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time.

6. Who else sees your data

Your enquiry is read by our sales and technical team. Beyond that, personal data is shared only with the service providers listed above, and only so they can perform the function described. We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.

We may disclose data where the law requires it.

7. International transfers

We are based in Hong Kong, our hosting and analytics providers operate in the United States and the European Union, and our shipping operations are in China. Data you submit will therefore be processed outside your own country, including outside the European Economic Area. Where the GDPR applies, such transfers are made on the basis of the safeguards our providers offer, including the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

8. How long we keep it

We keep enquiries and correspondence for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and with any business relationship that follows from it. Where an enquiry becomes an order, records are kept for as long as accounting and tax law requires. When neither reason applies any more, the data is deleted. Analytics data is retained according to the retention settings of the tools listed in section 5.

9. Your rights

You can ask us to:

• give you a copy of the data we hold about you;
• correct it if it is wrong;
• delete it;
• restrict or stop our use of it;
• send it to you or to another provider in a portable format;
• withdraw consent you have given for cookies or marketing.

Write to sales@richfinch.com. We will respond within one month. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom and you think we have handled your data badly, you can also complain to your national data protection authority.

10. Security

Form submissions and website traffic are transmitted over an encrypted connection. Access to enquiries is limited to the people who need it to do their job. No system is completely secure, and we do not claim otherwise.

11. Children

This site sells industrial production equipment to businesses. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

12. Changes

If we change how we handle personal data, we update this page and change the date at the top of it. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
